I Choose Life-Africa is an NGO in Kenya which carries out HIV and AIDS prevention, care and support intervention among students in institutions of Higher learning.
Job Title: Accounts assistant
Job Analyst ( Your supervisor): Project Accountant
Reporting to Job Holder: Finance Manager
Location: LOCATION NAIROBI
Job Purpose:
Assist the Accountant in daily routine jobs.
Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:-
* Write cheques upon delegation by the PA
* Filing bank statements, banking slips and payment vouchers.
* Ensure that receipts are well filled upon payments and address any issue raised during an internal audit.
* Ensure petty cash and working advances are well accounted for before they are presented to the project accountant
* Ensure the office is neatly maintained with all current files properly arranged
* Liase with suppliers to source for quotes and ensure smooth making of payments
* Ensure MFRs are properly photocopied and filed in respective files.
* Stamping PAID to all payments done.
* Process payments and supporting documentation to suppliers
* Assist in Carrying out internal audits
* Assist in Procurement and business support
* Assist in following up of Payment of all statutory deductions
* Receive financial reports from the field and pick out and sort any audit issues before the presenting them to the financial accountant.
Academic Qualifications:-
* Be a part qualified Accountant with (CPA – Part 2) or (ACCA – Level 2) is mandatory.
* Excellent computer knowledge in Quick books, Excel and Word a must.
Experience and Personality Desired:-
* At least one year relevant working experience.
* Good written and spoken English.
* Keen on details with high level of initiative.
* A hard working individual willing put in extra hours of work when need arises.
* Capable of working with minimal supervision.
