Job Description:
The International Health and Development Division of ICF Macro (formerly Macro International Inc.) seeks a Malaria Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team.
The M&E Officer will work under the supervision of the Resident Malaria Advisor to provide technical assistance in implementing the Division of Malaria Control's monitoring and evaluation framework.
The MEASURE Evaluation Kenya malaria portfolio focuses on capacity building for M&E, strengthening surveillance systems, promoting data demand and information use and support for impact evaluations.
The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct health information system assessments with an eye to providing technical assistance on strengthening systems for malaria surveillance
* Implement new tools for malaria M&E including field testing and national scale-up as required.
* Participate in study design, data analysis and protocol writing TA as required
* Assist the DOMC in reviewing performance and quality of service delivery, on-the-job mentoring for health workers, and evaluation and use of strategic information
* Contribute to strengthening national level collaboration for Kenya's national malaria M&E framework.
* This will be achieved by participating and contributing to technical discussions on malaria treatment, prevention and BCC/IEC M&E requirements.
* Provide monthly activity updates to the Kenya MEASURE Evaluation activity lead and to the DOMC and write quarterly and annual progress reports in collaboration with the same.
* Conduct other duties as assigned by the Kenya MEASURE Evaluation malaria activity lead
Basic Qualifications:
* Post-graduate degree in epidemiology, demography, statistics, infectious disease control with preference for malaria
* 3 years experience in infectious disease control monitoring and evaluation.
* Computer proficiency - Microsoft office suite applications, STATA, SPSS
Preferred Skills:
* Prior experience in malaria programs and M&E systems in Kenya
* Experience working with DOMC
* Proof of technical writing a plus
